Bird Walk – Los Cerritos Wetlands

September 10, 2016 @ 8:00 am - 10:00 am

Observe and learn about the birds of this remnant wetland including the endangered Belding’s Savannah sparrow, the endangered California least tern, and the threatened snowy plover.  You will see an array of shorebirds, song birds and raptors, too.  Bring binoculars, closed shoes, and a hat is recommended.  The terrain is rough and there are no comfort amenities, such as toilets or water.  We meet on 1st Street at PCH in Seal Beach.  From PCH turn west onto the partially paved road and park on the south side of the road along the chain-link fence.  The leader is Mary Parsell.      If you’re interested in learning more about the endangered California least tern and the threatened snowy plover, then please attend our monthly general meeting on Thursday Sept. 15, 7:30 PM, at El Dorado Park Nature Center, 7550 E. Spring St., Long Beach 90815.  Parking is free; we serve light refreshments.
