It’s that time once again for all birders, young and old, experienced and newcomers, to help the El Dorado Audubon Society with the annual Christmas Bird Count (CBC). This is a great time of year to gather as a group with one common goal and that is to count birds.
Meet at the South end of the El Dorado Branch Library parking lot, 2900 Studebaker Road, Long Beach at 7:30 a.m. on December 16th if you don’t already have a pre-assigned location. Don’t forget to bring binoculars, field guide and spotting scope if you have one. Also bring water, snacks and appropriate clothing for the weather as we count birds, rain or shine. Count sheets will be provided, and we will train you on how to use them if you don’t know already. All count sheets need to be turned in to Cindy no later than Friday December 22nd or you can turn them in at the dinner on the day of the count.
After the count or at approximately 4:30 p.m., we will meet at Glory Days Beachside Restaurant, 620 Pacific Coast Hwy, Seal Beach for dinner and a recap of the day’s event and collection of any count sheets should you choose to turn in on the day of the event.
Any questions or to sign up for CBC, please call Cindy at 562.331.1163.
