This is a new addition for April (not in our newsletter), the first in our “Spring Field Trip Series”.  The 3rd Saturday in April, May and June we’ll be birding at a good spot along each of the major rivers in the LA Basin:  LA River, San Gabriel River and Santa Ana River.

For our first Spring field trip join us to check out the birds and the wildflowers at Dominguez Gap Wetlands on the Los Angeles River. We will be looking for waterfowl, hawks, and songbirds.  Meet at the entrance on Del Mar Ave. near Virginia Vista Court, park on Del Mar Ave.  Bring binoculars, water, hat and sunscreen.

Directions:

From 405 Fwy, exit north on Long Beach Blvd.
Head north on Long Beach Blvd (toward E Wardlow Rd)
Turn left onto E 36th St
Turn right onto Pacific Ave
At the circle, take the 2nd exit onto Country Club Dr.
Turn left onto Los Cerritos Park Pl.
Turn right onto Del Mar Ave.
Continue to 4065 Del Mar Ave and park near the trailhead
