Leader: Carolyn Vance
Our last Monday morning trip of the year is to River’s End – the San Gabriel River, that is, where it flows into the Pacific Ocean (1st St., Seal Beach). Target birds are rocky shorebirds.
Directions: Take Pacific Coast Hwy (PCH) south to 1st St. in Seal Beach and turn left. Follow to where it dead ends at the parking lot. You can park on the street for free or pull into the River’s End Café/beach parking lot and pay. Meet at the end of the parking lot by the restrooms. To carpool, at 8:30am meet at the south end of the El Dorado branch library, 2900 Studebaker Rd., LB (just south of Spring St).
Don’t forget to bring binoculars, your favorite field guide, hat, sturdy shoes, water, and snacks. Carolyn will also bring her scope.
Field trips with Carolyn are held every 1st Monday of the month except in July & August and will resume in September.
